Welcome to my new blog ColourmecalmUK.
I only started colouring a fortnight or so ago and really do not know what took me so long to find this wonderful hobby.
I discovered adult colouring books by way of a coincidence. I follow the Overtones on Twitter and Lachie had coloured a picture from Millie Marotta’s Animal Kingdom, which I fell in love with so went and ordered it on Amazon and then went shopping and discovered the Zen range of colouring books in WH Smiths. Now several packs of coloured pencils later, I’m settled on Faber Castell and sit colouring away.
As a sufferer from anxiety and depression in the past, I currently run a busy medical transcription company and do the colouring as a stress relief and relaxation tool, which I thoroughly enjoy. I have always wanted to paint/draw but seeing as I’m rubbish at that, colouring is something I plan to do for a very long time. I have also dabbled in card making, I knit, cross stitch, garden when I can, make jewellery so am a hands on kind of person.
I hope to be able to review some new colouring books and help promote the UK based illustrators creating our wonderful colouring books for our great hobby.
I hope you will join me on our great colouring adventure.
Get in touch and tell me what you are colouring at the moment and what you would like to see in colouring books and lets see where this journey takes us.
I am working on Johanna Basford’s Secret Garden, Enchanted Forest and Millie Marotta’s Animal Kingdom.
I would like to hear from any publishers wishing me to review their new publications.
